Source of Funds
Source of Funds answers a single question for any wallet: who sent it money? Paste an address and ChainHint lists the named counterparties that funded it — with USD amounts, entity labels, and risk categories (exchange, mixer, sanctioned, scam) — instead of raw transaction hashes. Works on Ethereum, TRON, Bitcoin, and more. On Solana it is temporarily unavailable while the transfer-data provider key is replaced — the page says "data unavailable" rather than showing an empty result.
It looks at direct (1-hop) senders from an address's most recent inbound transfers — a recent-activity window, not the full account history. When no inbound is found in that window, the panel says so explicitly (“insufficient data”) rather than implying the address is clean. For the full receiving-and-sending breakdown by category, it pairs with the Counterparty Exposure panel shown on every address and investigation.

Trace Depth
Depth controls how many funding transactions are resolved and attributed. Tiers scale with plan: 25 senders for anonymous visitors, 100 for free accounts, and 1,000 for paid plans.
