Every transfer valued on the day it moved
A trace that spans months used to be priced on a single date, which misstates it by however much the market moved in between. Each transfer is now valued at its own day's price, tokens are priced by contract address rather than the symbol they claim, and a transfer we cannot price historically is reported as unpriced instead of quietly valued at today's price. On the Bybit trace that is the difference between $941M and $1.40B — the second figure agrees with the published loss.
Value when moved vs value today
Every transfer also carries what it would be worth at today's price, so you can switch bases on the graph without re-running the trace, and a report can state which basis it used.
